My 20-questions book tag

Inspired by Joseyphina’s World post HERE, I went over to Pinterest to see if I can find a book tag of interest that I can also blog about. I definitely did find one and here is my 20 questions book tag. Enjoy!

  1. How many books are too many in a book series?

I am not really a fan of book series, but I think anything more than three is a stretch.

  2. How do you feel about cliffhangers?

They drive me crazy, but they also allow me to use my imagination after a story ends. So, I am not sure how I feel about them.

  3. Hardback or paperback?

I wish I had more hardcovers, but I will settle for a paperback as long as I get to read something.

 4. Favourite book?

Women who run with the wolves by Clarissa Pinkola Estes. This is like a return to consciousness for me every time I feel myself losing touch with my inner self.

5. Least favourite book?

This is a tough one, but if I had to pick one, I would say Gabrielle Union’s “We’re going to need more wine“. I struggled to read that book and I never finished it. I get the message behind it and everything, but it just missed the mark for me.

6. Love triangles, yes or no?

I would say no. I like a good romance story with a guy/girl who knows what they want from beginning to the end.

7. The most recent book you couldn’t finish?

I remember it was a Danielle Steel book, Fall From Grace. I kind of finished it in my head towards the end because the ending became so obvious in the last two chapters.

8. A book you’re currently reading?

I am reading Power of Now by Eckhart Tolle. I highly recommend this book for anyone struggling with living in the moment, being present and letting go of some stuff. I am glued to it most mornings and evenings when I am not reading my Bible that is.

9. Last book you recommended to someone?

Bishop Tudor Bismark, Think: Organizing People, Organizing Money.

10. Favourite author?

I cannot pick one, but definitely on my list would be Paulo Coelho; Jodi Picoult, Danielle Steel, Tsitsi Dangarembga, Chinua Achebe and Ngozi Chimamanda Adichie. I need to read more from African authors.

11. Buying books or borrowing books?

Both, as long as I get to read.

12. A book you can always reread?

Women who run with the wolves and the Bible.

13. Can you read while listening to music?

I get lost in my books, especially if I am reading a good one. I won’t even be distracted by anything, so yes.

14. Do you read a book in one sitting or over multiple days?

I would say it depends on the book. I have books that I have spent months trying to finish, others I finish in a matter of days.

15. What is your bad book habit?

I have a tendency to read multiple books at the same time, depending on my mood. This affects my completion rate and I know I need to quit doing this. I am trying to get back to reading one book at a time.

16. One book that changed your life.

第3章 What do YOU want, Lord? by Helen Reed - ハレルヤ!香港より ...

What do you want Lord? by Helen Reed. A tiny book, but I am telling you, this book got me rethinking my relationship with Christ and made me want to do better. I am still looking for a copy of it because I left the one I read at my mother’s house. It deserves another read.

17. What book has been on your reading shelf for too long?

Becoming by Michelle Obama. I am yet to finish it and it has been close to six months now.

18. What book do you keep telling yourself you will read, but you probably won’t?

48 laws of power by Robert Greene.

19. A recent book recommendation that you cannot wait to read.

Pink lips and empty hearts by Heather Lindsay. I am hoping someone in my life will take a hint and buy it for me. My birthday passed in January, but it can be a gift just because…*hint hint* if you’re reading this.

20. Who do you tag?

I tag YOU if you’re reading this and you haven’t done this book tag yet. If you do decide to do it, please link back to me again so I can check yours out.

Until next time…
