My very first blog award nomination: The Liebster Award

The Official Rules of the Liebster Award | The Global Aussie

The Liebster award is an award given to bloggers by other bloggers. I am grateful to be nominated by Khanani who writes at Resolute Scribbles. This is my first time ever being nominated by another blogger so this is a HUGE moment for me.

Liebster Award Rules.

  1. Thank the blogger who nominated you and provide a link to their blog.
  2. Answer the 11 questions given to you.
  3. Nominate 11 bloggers.
  4. Notify your nominees once you have uploaded your post.

Questions and Answers.

What is my favourite book and why?

Anything by Paulo Coelho is going to be in my top three, but my current fave from him is The Zahir. I learnt a lot about love and relationships from that book. Must-read if you haven’t copped it yet!

What song do I currently have on repeat?

Grace by Jonathan McReynolds. The whole album is called People and it has been on repeat for weeks, but Grace is my fave. It makes me cry every time I play it because I realise just how much grace I need to survive.

Which season (Autumn, Spring, Summer or Winter) best describes you?

Winter definitely. I love being indoors and I love my bed. Winter allows me to do just that without having to explain why.

In the event of an emergency home evacuation, what is the first item (s) you grab?

I had to add the (s) to item because I cannot take just one thing. My journal and phone are usually in the same place so I will grab those. But, then again, I could journal on my phone, but what if the battery dies? So, yes journal and phone.

Which historical figure would you most like to meet and why?

Che Guevara, for his intellect, but the man was also a racist. He wrote about how whites were superior to people of African descent. I would want to meet him just to ask him about the quote below which shows a direct contradiction from what he was preaching.

What makes a good blog?

For me, I value authenticity more than anything. I read so many different blogs from people with diverse views. I respect those whose authenticity stands out and they are so true to themselves and unapologetic about who they are, no matter what they write about.

Back to the past or forward to the future?

My past was a mess, I am glad it’s over. It also brought me to where I am now, so I cannot be that against it. I just would not want to go back to relive some of the bad moments I experienced. I don’t know the future so I also don’t want to go there before my time. I choose now, this moment right here. This is my reality!

Your dream vacation.

Mykonos, Greece. I just have to see it for myself.

The greatest movie of all time.

I guess I will mention the movie that I watched more than six times and never got bored, Con Air with Nicholas Cage. I also love anything with Keanu Reeves.

Wealth or health?

I will not be able to enjoy my wealth if I am lying on a hospital bed, so health.

Your proudest moment.

I have had a couple, thanks to God. The most recent one I guess was when I wrote an ebook on postgraduate funding within a few days with my friend Uchechi. Never thought I had it in me, but yeah.

I nominate;

Rita Musanhi

Alejandra Fong

Thinking Out Loud/Shirley

Shruti’s PhD

Ramblings of a Sotho Girl

Aman Kumar

Haibo Moghel

Precious Zvimba

  1. Nice! Winter? Wow, people are really different and that’s what makes life more fun and interesting. I also like what you said about the past and future; the past can be messy but makes us who we are today depending on whether you let the mess break you or make you. I enjoyed reading a glimpse of your thoughts!
